Colour Creations Granny Apple Green

Green Stampin' Up Very Versailles Embossing Paste

Hi again, friendly stampers! Spring has sprung and we are showcasing Granny Apple Green, a great colour for our season Down Under!

I have made this card using a Whisper White card base made of half an A4 (A5) folded in half. Onto this I have adhered a Granny Apple Green matt cut to 10cm x 14.35cm.

I then made a background onto another matt of Granny Apple Green cut to 9cm x 13.35cm with a Decorative Mask and Shimmery White Embossing Paste, applied with a Palette Knife. I waited for the embossing paste to dry before proceeding further.

I made a sentiment with a stamp from Very Versailles with Granny Apple Green inkpad and cut out with Stitched Rectangle dies. I wanted the die to be longer and narrower than any of the dies in the set, so I die-cut twice, repositioning the die to make a long, thin rectangle:

Here is the finished sentiment element:

I placed a length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle across the embossed card front and adhered at the back with Tear and Tape. I attached the sentiment to one side, using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals across the upper edge and Glue Dots along the lower edge where the sentiment lies on top of the ribbon underneath:

I tied a bow onto the ribbon, securing in place with additional Glue Dots. I adhered the card front to the green matt and then to the card base with Multi-purpose Liquid Glue.

I thought I would give this card to a friend of mine who loves the craft of egg-decorating. I found a quote that suited our friendship perfectly, and set about calligraphing and decorating the inside of the card!

I die-cut two ovals from Stitched Shapes, applied the polka dot Decorative Mask, and sponged with Granny Apple Green inkpad to make two "eggs". I drew some "cracks" with a black marker.

I wrote a message inside the card with my modern calligraphy using an oblique pen and EF66 nib.
