Colour Creations Basic Gray

This week we are showcasing the lovely hues of Basic Gray. There are three greys with Stampin' Up - Basic Gray, Gray Granite and Smokey Slate. I love them all, and they are to be found in the lovely DSP of In Good Taste.

And so, with this inspiration in mind, I forge ahead to make a couple of cards, one masculine, and one not so masculine. Both cards are made on a card base of Whisper White.

Here is my masculine card below. I made the feathers with the Positive Thoughts stamp set and coordinating Nature's Thoughts dies. The middle panel uses a piece of the In Good Taste DSP. And the Sentiment at the bottom is from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set. I finished off with a bit of Sparkly Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

And this next card is going to be my new favourite! I used the Very Versailles stamp set to create a vintage look. The Basic Gray matt is embossed with Scritpty 3D embossing folder, which has also been sponged with Whisper White ink to make it stand out.

This is the "list of ingredients" I used to make this card (don't forget to add a Stampin' Up Paper Trimmer, adhesive and Stampin' Dimensionals if you do not already have them!)

  3. Two lovely cards, Sujatha. I just love the feathers and the panel of DSP on your first card. And that is one gorgeous bow! And the embossing with the sponged white ink looks great on your second card - it's very effective!
